A Yankee Connection
Francis Moynihan of Jamestown shows off one of the many autographed photos his late father acquired, courtesy of his connections with the New York Yankees, dating as far back as the 1940s. In the image above are, from the left, Hall-of-Famers Casey Stengel, Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra. Moynihan’s father, also named Francis, had signed photographs of Mickey Mantle, among others, in his collection, as well as a personal letter from Stengel. A 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School, Moynihan works out regularly at the Lakewood YMCA.
