Randolph Clips Brocton/Cassadaga Valley In Top Of 7th Inning
BROCTON — Randolph rallied from an 8-7 deficit with a six-run top of the seventh inning to beat Brocton/Cassadaga Valley 13-8 in nonleague baseball Tuesday.
Gavin Senn walked and Randall Nottingham was hit by a pitch to open the seventh before Kevin McElwain hit an RBI single to tie the game. After the Bulldogs changed pitchers, Bryson Pitts plated the go-ahead run with an RBI single to center field. A walk to Laiden Wojtowicz loaded the bases before McElwain scored on an error. Hunter Foster capped the scoring with a two-run single.
Pitts went 4 for 5 with an RBI and three runs scored; Senn went 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored; Nottingham was 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; McElwain was 2 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored; Aidan Taylor went 2 for 3; and Wojtowicz added a double for the Cardinals.
Nico Blattenberger went 2 for 3 with an RBI; Chris Furman doubled with two RBIs; and Jackson Crowell tripled with two RBIs for Brocton/Cassadaga Valley. Six Bulldogs pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound.
EAGLES COME FROM BEHIND
MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake rallied from an early 6-1 deficit to beat Silver Creek/Forestville 7-6 in nonleague action.
The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning, two more in the fourth and their final run in the sixth while holding the Black Knights scoreless over their final four trips to the plate.
Chautauqua Lake (2-0) managed to produce its offense with just two hits while walking six times and taking advantage of five Silver Creek/Forestville errors.
Hunter Anderson went 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Cody Neubauer was 2 for 4 with a run scored; and Manny Sanchez and Ryan Skinner doubled for the Black Knights (2-1).
