Jamestown snaps three-game skid
NIAGARA FALLS — Eric Weeks went 3 for 5 with a double and a home run to help the Jamestown Tarp Skunks snap a three-game losing streak with a 14-8 win over the Niagara Falls Americans in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action Tuesday at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Jamestown (12-5) led 4-1 after one inning and 12-1 after five before holding on in the later innings.
Tito Kiefer went 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored; CJ Dugan was 2 for 4 with a double; Matthew Dumas was 2 for 4 with a run scored; Caleb Jordan doubled and drove in four runs; and Paul Dulanto doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice for Jamestown, which pounded out 16 hits.
Zachary McLean started for the Tarp Skunks, tossing four innings of three-hit ball while allowing one run. He struck out six and walked three. Logan Price, Santino Musone and Joseph Santos tossed the next four innings before Chase Beran got the final three outs with a pair of strikeouts.
Matthew Ganschow had two hits, including a double, three RBIs and a run scored; Dominick Zangardi had three hits, two RBIs and a run scored; and David Harris had two hits and two runs scored for Niagara Falls (8-9).
Mitchell Canuel took the loss, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) in three innings while giving up 10 hits and three walks. He struck out four.
Jamestown is off today before hosting the Batavia Muckdogs at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Diethrick Park.
