Like most other antiques, antique boats hold their value.

And they are still as popular today as when they were purchased.

Chautauqua Lake Twin Tier Chapter of antique boats founder Bill Reynolds loves his antique boat and enjoys the information he gains at shows.

And on June 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the 24th Antique And Classic Boat that will be held at the Village Casino, and Village Park, 1 Lakeside Drive, Bemus Point.

“The camaraderie and sharing the information are probably the two best things, just the fellowship, of course,” Reynolds said. “Having a common denominator between a love of our boats. Most of us enjoy sharing different knowledge about the boats, whether it’s the restoration or the history of the boats.”

Reynolds added that at the free event there will be at the dock, and there will be boats on land. On land, he added, there will be vendors and Field of Dreams, where some people are going to register boats to actually sell them or try to sell them.

“So there’ll be quite an eclectic group and variety of boats that will be there, and some vendors passing on their wares,” Reynolds noted.

According to the chapter’s website, cltt-acbs.org, The Antique & Classic Boat Society, Inc. (ACBS) is a membership organization dedicated to connecting people who enjoy classic boats. “We are a chapter of the national Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS.) As a group of boating enthusiasts in the Southern part of New York State and Northern Pennsylvania, we get together to share our love of boats and boating. Some of us own antique or classic boats…others just appreciate them. In any case, we invite you to become a member and enjoy fun and fellowship,” the website said.
