Caprino, Koresko Are Champs At South Hills Country Club

BUSTI — South Hills Country Club held its club championship last weekend.
The overall men’s club champion was Pete Caprino with a two-day gross score of 149. The overall ladies club champion was Michelle Koresko with a two-day gross total of 165.
In the men’s First Flight, from the blue tees, PJ Gronquist led the way with a 155, taking a tiebreaker from second-place Marty Stockwell. Steve Anderson was third with a 156.
In the men’s Second Flight, also from the blue tees, Larry Case led the way with a 157, followed by Jerry Rouse (160) and Pat MacIntyre (171).
In the men’s Third Flight, playing from the white tees, Chris D’Angelo was first with a 144. Tommy Fales was second, winning a tiebreaker over Erik Dahlgren; both shot 149s.
Mike Paterniti won the men’s Fourth Flight, playing from the white tees, wiht a 139. Rich Moon was second with a 155 and Mike Peters was third with a 156.
The men’s Fifth Flight played from the gold tees and Bruce Brightman led the way with a 144. Sam Amatuzzo was second with a 151, winning a tiebreaker over Dan Mason.
Koresko won the ladies title with a 165, while Mary Green was second and Michelle Ognibene.
In ladies net scoring, Koresko topped Michelle Slade and Sarah Drake.
