Tarp Skunks Roll Past Muckdogs 12-3 At Dwyer Stadium
BATAVIA — Twenty-four hours after suffering a doubleheader sweep at home, Jamestown rebounded nicely Monday evening, routing first-place Batavia 12-3 in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League West Division contest at Dwyer Stadium.
Starter Will Saxenmeyer and reliever Griffin White (1-1) combined on a four-hitter and were the beneficiaries of a 14-hit attack to help the Tarp Skunks improve to 13-14 on the season.
Trailing 1-0 after the first inning, Jamestown erupted for four runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth en route to the convincing win.
Leading the way for Jamestown at the plate was DJ Stoianovich with three hits. Nigel Sebastianelli (double, three RBIs), Bobby Stang (two RBIs), Noah Brooks (two RBIs) and Henry Juan collected a pair of hits apiece; and Brandon McLain-Banks drove in two runs.
The Muckdogs (20-5-1) were led by Lucas Lopez (double), who had two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Gavin Chandler (0-1), one of five Batavia pitchers, took the loss.
The Tarp Skunks return to action at 6:30 p.m. today when they take on Niagara Falls at Diethrick Park. It’s $2 hot dogs/beer/bleacher tickets night.
