RANDOLPH — Forestville opened up an early 6-0 lead and held on to defeat Randolph 6-4 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 softball game Tuesday.
Winning pitcher Alexandra Kerstetter scattered six hits and struck out 14 to help the Hornets raise their record to 9-2 overall and 8-1 in the division.
Olivia Valentine led Forestville’s offensive attack with three hits, Ava Schwerk added a pair of doubles and two RBIs, Avery Rebmann drove in a pair of runs, and Elizabeth Case and Emily Lillie both doubled for the winners.
For the Cardinals (5-7, 4-6), Ryanne Bushey smacked two hits and losing pitcher Grace Arnold-Hill added a double.
RHINEHART PITCHES GEM
FALCONER — Four runs in the third inning was all Emily Rhinehart needed as Falconer downed Fredonia 4-1 in a Division 1 game.
Rhinehart struck out seven and walked four in a pitchers’ duel with the Hillbillies’ McKella Hodkin, who surrendered four hits and fanned four.
Rhinehart helped her own cause with a double and two RBIs as the Golden Falcons improved to 12-2 overall and 7-2 in the division.
For Fredonia (10-3, 9-2), Jenna Fryberger collected two hits and McKenna Crawford added a triple.
BROCTON PREVAILS
BROCTON — Brocton pounded out 13 hits, including three apiece by Paige Miller (double) and Zoe Spiller (double), to spark Brocton to a 10-4 win over Pine Valley in a Division 2 game.
Miyah Collins, Sha’Nah Adams (double) and winning pitcher Nevah Hebner (double) all added two hits as the Bulldogs improved to 2-12 overall and 1-8 in the division. Collins drove in three runs and Spiller knocked in a pair.
For the Panthers (1-10, 1-7), Carlie Ward had three hits and Sapherea Lindquist collected two.

FOR WESTFIELD
SINCLAIRVILLE — Arielle Corbett smacked four hits, including a double, and drove in three runs to spark Westfield to a 13-6 win over Cassadaga Valley in a Division 2 game.

Madyson Burgess chipped in a pair of hits in support of winning pitcher Avery Smith as the Wolverines improved to 4-7 overall and 4-5 in the division.
For Cassadaga Valley (0-9, 0-7), Mia Fanara collected three hits, Anna Burlingame belted a home run and drove in two runs, and Catie Russell and Chelsey Johnson shared time in the circle.
