RANDOLPH — A four-run third inning jump-started Randolph to an 8-3 Division 1 East win over Forestville.

In the Cardinals’ first home game of the season, senior Abigail Pitts threw a three-hitter with a career-high 18 strikeouts and four walks.

In the fourth inning, Aryana Sears led off with a single and Quinn Pence reached on an error before Eliza Hind hit an RBI single and Sadie Steward had an RBI double. Hind then scored on a Jaclynn Flood RBI groundout and Steward scored on Ryanne Bushey’s RBI double.

Steward finished 3 for 3 with a double and a fifth-inning solo home run. Hind had two hits and three RBIs, while Flood and Sears each had two hits for Randolph (3-4, 2-2).

Aspen VanArsdale had two hits, while Megan Gruber struck out eight for the Hornets (5-3, 2-3).

WOLVERINES

HIT PAST WOLVES

WESTFIELD — Westfield scored the final nine runs and pounded out 13 hits in a 12-2 Division 2 West win over Clymer/Sherman.

Eva Gnadzinski doubled twice, drove in a run and scored a run; Mackenzie Schumaker was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored; Tanleigh Bestine was 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; and Madyson Burgess had three hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Wolverines (6-3, 6-1). Arielle Corbett and Drew Ernewein each added a double in the win.

Gnadzinski and Avery Smith combined to strike out four in the circle.

Lily Martin doubled and drove in a run; Kelsey Wagner had three hits; and Caylee Pinzok had two hits for the Wolves (4-3, 4-3).

BIG 2ND PROPELS EAGLES

MAYVILLE — Cayzlee Johnson threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks as Chautauqua Lake shut out Panama 5-0 in Division 2 West action.

Jillian Miller led the Eagles (8-1, 7-0) offensively with three hits, a run scored and an RBI. Alice Scarpine drove in two runs and scored a run, while Makenna Smith and Karagan Fairbank added RBIs.

The Panthers fell to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the league.

TROJANS FALL SHORT

WEST ELLICOTT — Allegany-Limestone built an early lead and Southwestern chipped away at the lead, but came up short 5-3 in Division 1 West.

Siri DuBois led the Southwestern (3-6, 2-5) offense going 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs, Lily Robinson hit an RBI double and Lexi Beckerink hit 1 for 2 with a pair of runs scored.

Allegany-Limestone (7-5, 3-3) leadoff batter Summer Rhow went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs, while Carley Barrey hit 3 for 4.

Kailey Truman pitched all seven innings and gave up just five hits and struck out six batters to secure the win in the circle. Maddie Burnett took the loss for the Trojans pitching all seven and striking out eight while walking three and giving up nine hits.

BEARS HAVE BIG 5TH INNING

BEMUS POINT — Frewsburg scored seven runs in the fifth inning en route to a 10-2 Division 2 West victory over Maple Grove.

Teghan Trocki threw a complete-game two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and five walks in the circle. She helped herself with two hits and an RBI. Skylar Waid and Mackenzie Martin each had three hits, while Braelyn Stelmack had two doubles for the Bears (3-6, 2-6).

For the Red Dragons (1-5, 1-3), Lydia Darr struck out six and walked one while also hitting two batters. Alex Caldwell hit a double while Darr added a single for the only two hits of the game.

NC STORMS PAST T’WOLVES

CATTARAUGUS — North Collins exploded for 18 hits and cruised past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 16-4 in Division 2 East.

Brook Gabel led the North Collins (4-7, 3-2) offense with 3 RBIs while going 4 for 4 and scoring, Cate Ayers equaled her in RBIs while scoring three times and going 3 for 3, Lily Montaldi was 3 for 5 with an RBI and four runs scored, Novalee Schlenker and Eleanor Fricano both added an RBI and scored. Ayers claimed the win in the circle after striking out four and walking two.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley was led by Madison Rogan with a home run and Kylie Unruh with a double and a run scored. Madelyn Shattuck was the losing pitcher for the Timberwolves (1-6, 1-4).
