DISTRICT 38 LITTLE LEAGUE

MAJORS DIVISION

Bryan Heald tied the game with a two-run triple and Curtis Spielman hit an RBI single as part of a five-run fourth inning as Frewsburg’s Storage Linc beat Randolph’s Quatro Outdoors 8-5 on Friday evening.

Spielman doubled and drove in two runs with two runs scored and Heald also scored twice for Storage Linc. Lincoln Moller, Spielman and Jackson Butzer combined on a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts on the mound.

For Quatro Outdoors, Liam Brown, Donavan Peterson, Austin Bushey and Alex Barber each had a hit with Peterson, Bushey, Barber and Conner Killbury each driving in a run. Bushey and Kasen Hill combined for 12 strikeouts on the mound.

WESTERN NEW YORK PREMIER LEAGUE

11U KEN GRIFFEY JR. DIVISION

Lukas Youngberg and Curtis Spielman each had a pair of hits and drove in a run as the Diamond Dawgs beat the Cheektowaga Knights 7-3.

Youngberg walked and scored on a Liam Mulkins groundout in the first inning.

Cheektowaga took a 2-1 lead in the second inning before the Diamond Dawgs took the lead for good with a five-run fourth inning.

Mulkins singled to open the inning and went to second on an errant pickoff throw before Collin Bragg hit an RBI single. Greyson Whitfield then hit an RBI single to center field and ended up at third on the play before scoring on a wild pitch. Jackson Butzer then walked, stole second and went to third on Caden Lacki’s groundout before Spielman hit an RBI single to short. Owen Carlberg singled and both runners moved up on a wild pitch, but the Diamond Dawgs ran into an out at home plate for the second out. With Carlberg on third, Cory Troutman hit an RBI single. Huxley Haley then singled Troutman to third before Youngberg’s RBI single ended the inning.

Mulkins, Bragg and Whitfield combined to strike out nine and walk four on the mound.

SOUTHERN TIER GIRLS BABE RUTH SOFTBALL

10U MINORS DIVISION

Panama’s Neil’s Propane and Falconer’s Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union tied 14-14.

For Panama, Isla Moats had a great catch and played solid defense, and Phoebe Wolcott had a great day at the plate.

For Falconer, Brooklyn Wood had three hits and Lauren Youngberg played outstanding defense.
