Week 3 of the Northwest Arena Backyard Curling Spring Leagues was high in competition with all and the wins were hard to come by.

MONDAY 5:45 LEAGUE

Cold Beer Here remains ahead of the pack as a result of Steve Tanner and Rich Miller. The team went perfect on the night against Girls with Stones 31-26 and We Love Beer 31-20.

Meanwhile, Cathy Panebianco has In the House hot on the tail. She evened the record with Cold Beer Here by single-handedly shutting down Sloppy Penguins 32-10 and Tracey’s Dog 27-18.

Hindy’s Hurlers got back on track with Mark Hinderleider leading the way versus Tracey’s Dog 31-29.

Sue Comella kept her hot streak going for Curling Q’s. They won comfortably over Ice Men 35-21.

Cole Kell caught fire for We Love Beer in their 40-33 conquest of Brewster’s Bros.

Last but not least, Mary Bosek and Girls with Stones held on to take down Sloppy Penguins 24-23.

MONDAY 6:45 LEAGUE

The only squad with a perfect outing was 12 oz. Curls, who are now the only remaining unblemished unit in both leagues. Mike Wissman and Jeff Housler made this possible by sneaking past Frosty Sliders 24-18 and EB Curlers 26-18.

Kayla Fardink has Curling Queens in a decent position to claim first place down the road. She stopped the avalanche of Rock Slide with 24-20 the final score.

Ellison Sliders traded shots down the stretch with Curling Me Softly, however, Todd Cavier got them over the hump 29-28.

Chris Hackett and Curling Me Softly picked up a solid victory against Curling Queens 20-14.

Nate Welker and Rock Slide cracked the code of Ellison Sliders 23-20.

Zach Sanderson carried EB Curlers to a dramatic triumph. They pulled out a slugfest in double-overtime versus Ellison Eeyores 19-16.

Shane Higgs corralled Ellison Eeyores to rebound against Frostly Sliders 25-16.
