A Quilts of Valor ceremony was recently held at Christ First Church’s Darrah Hall hosted by Vets Finding Vets and Pvt. Joseph P. Dwyer Chautauqua Veterans, during their recent Vets and Friends coffee gathering.

Presenter Mary Lou Zerby and members of WNY Quilters for a Cause from Hamburg joined in with a new local group, Chautauqua Region Quilts of Valor.

Both groups participated in a ceremony awarding each of six veterans with a red, white, and blue patchwork quilt made especially for them.

Quilts of Valor Foundation is a nationwide organization of volunteer quilters which began in 2003. To nominate a veteran contact Barb Cessna, Vets Finding Vets project coordinator, at 716-664-6256.
