Fredonia Girls Advance In Class B1 To Play Trojans

FREDONIA — Fredonia senior Ashlynn Delcamp represented the eighth-seeded Hillbillies well in the final home game of her career, scoring 26 points and grabbing 14 rebounds for a double-double in a 68-29 Section VI Class B1 girls basketball prequarterfinal victory over No. 9 Medina on Thursday.

Keiliany Diaz added another 15 points and grabbed two steals for Fredonia; Ella Koopman scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds and picked up three steals; and Sophia Gullo had three steals.

Medina was led by Alexa Demmer with 12 points. The Mustangs finish the season with a 4-13 record.

Fredonia advances to the quarterfinals at No. 1 Southwestern (13-7) on Friday at 7 p.m.

FALCONER ELIMINATED

PORTVILLE — No. 7 Portville led 35-13 at halftime en route to a 50-28 victory over No. 10 Falconer in a Class B2 prequarterfinal.

Lilly Bentley had 12 points and 10 rebounds, eclipsing the 1,000-career rebound milestone in the second quarter for the Panthers. Jackie Scanlon also had 12 points to go along with three steals, while Emma Rhinehart had 10 points, two steals and two assists.

Augustine Krenzer led the Golden Falcons with 14 points and two assists. Ellyson Baglia had 8 points; Ashley Smith had five rebounds and two blocked shots; and Kamryn Harper had four rebounds and three blocked shots.

Portville will travel to No. 2 MST for a 5 p.m. quarterfinal Friday.
