SALAMANCA IMPROVES TO 3-1

SANBORN — Salamanca has been battling injury and illness of late, but it hasn’t been reflected in their play.

Thursday night was a perfect example.

Lucus Brown scored 30 points, Avery Brown added 11 and the Warriors’ defense did the rest on their way to a 57-42 nonleague victory over Niagara-Wheatfield.

Aided by 19 first-half points from Lucus Brown, Salamanca (3-1) opened up a 33-19 lead and was never threatened the rest of the way.

Niagara-Wheatfield (6-2) was led by Luke Walck, who finished with 21 points.

The Warriors return to action at noon Saturday when they entertain Sweet Home in another nonleague game.
