Flying Cows Hold Off Jackals In 4th Quarter Of TBL Win

FREDERICK, Md. — The Jamestown Jackals trailed by 14 entering the fourth quarter and cut their deficit to as few as six on two different occasions, but lost to the Frederick Flying Cows 111-104 in The Basketball League action Sunday afternoon at Hood College’s Ronald J. Volpe Athletic Center.

David Jasson led Jamestown with 28 points, while Derrick Colter had 21 points and five assists. Brent Price added 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals; Lorenzo Collier had 10 points; and Troy Baker had 8 points and seven rebounds.

Mustapha Traore led all scorers with 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the Flying Cows. Charlie Marquardt had 25 points and five rebounds; Tevin Foster had 17 points and seven assists; and Tavares Sledge had 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Second-place Frederick, which improved to 12-3 in the Northeast Division, hosts the Rhode Island Kraken on Saturday before visiting Jamestown next Sunday.

The Jackals, who fell to 7-7, host the Connecticut Crusaders on Friday and Frederick next Sunday at Jamestown Community College’s Physical Education Complex.
