Eight-Run Third Sends Salamanca Past North Collins

SALAMANCA — Six walks and a hit batter led to an eight-run third inning as Salamanca beat North Collins 13-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 baseball Monday at Veterans Memorial Park.

Jaxson Ross and Harley Hoag drove in runs on fielder’s choices and Shawn Bacelli capped the uprising with a two-run single to plate the final two runs of the frame.

Ross earned the win on the mound for the Warriors (12-6, 9-4), allowing one hit and walking two while striking out eight in four shutout innings. Hayden Hoag got the final three outs, two via strikeouts.

Hayden Hoag, Ross, Andy Herrick and Bacelli each singled for Salamanca.

Matt Sweet, Matt Warsaw and Scott Armbruster each singled for the Eagles (3-9, 3-9).

Asher Parnitzke and Daniel Downes combined for 13 walks and a hit batter while striking out one on the mound for North Collins.
