Hvizdzak Pours In 38 For Undefeated Randolph Girls

RANDOLPH — On Senior Night, Sydney Hvizdzak saved one of her best games for last.

The fifth-year Randolph player scored 38 points to go along with 10 rebounds and four steals as the Cardinals completed a perfect regular season with a 61-50 win over Falconer in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East play.

Hvizdzak had 4 points in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 6 in the third and 13 in the fourth.

Payton Morrison added 8 points; Alyssa Adams had six rebounds and Kyra Pence had four assists for the Cardinals (15-0, 10-0).

Randolph led 35-24 at halftime and the Golden Falcons (10-4, 6-4) never got closer than eight the rest of the way.

Tess Spangenburg and Ava Fenton led Falconer with 15 points apiece. Rachael Harper had 10 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots; Grace Lundmark had six rebounds; and Spangenburg had four assists.

SILVER CREEK — Aaliyah Stevens had 15 points and Miya Scanlan added 11 as Gowanda held off Silver Creek/Forestville in a 47-42 Division 1 East victory.

Scotia Snyder added 9 points for the Panthers (7-6, 6-4), who led 34-26 entering the fourth quarter.

Jade Bouvier led the Black Knights (7-9, 2-8) with 15 points to go along with seven rebounds. Abby Rice had 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while Carly Barrett had five steals on Senior Night for Silver Creek/Forestville.

LEAD WOLVERINES

WESTFIELD — Freshman Tanleigh Bestine scored 11 of her 14 points in the middle two quarters as Westfield/Brocton pulled away from Cassadaga Valley in a 62-48 Division 2 West victory.

The Wolverines (1-9, 1-9) led 12-8 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 16 by halftime — thanks to 8 second-quarter points from Juli Smith — before taking a 52-29 lead into the final eight minutes.

Smith led Westfield/Brocton with 16 points; Haleigh Dellow had 14 points, 12 rebounds and six steals; Heather Johnston had 10 rebounds; and Makartnee Mortimer had four steals.

Kaylee Pattyson led the Cougars (3-11, 1-9) with 20 points, 15 rebounds, six blocked shots and five steals. Sarah Meder added 17 points, six rebounds, six steals and four blocked shots while Brielle LeBaron had five assists.

PANAMA — Emma Wiggers had 13 points and Sam Nyweide added 11 as Clymer beat Panama, 51-30, in Division 2 West play.

The Pirates (5-7, 5-5) led 14-1 after the first quarter and 30-6 at halftime.

Karlen Honey grabbed 10 rebounds while Mikala Einink had four steals and four assists in the win.

Lilly Odell led the Panthers (8-5, 7-3) with 9 points, Kylie Morgan had six rebounds, Hannah Schauman had three steals and Madelyn Lisciandro had two assists.
