Angeletti, Schnars Named To First Team

The New York Volleyball Coaches Association announced its All-State teams on Friday with Panama seniors Kylie Schnars and Natalie Angeletti both earning Class D First-Team honors.

The Panthers finished the year at 24-2, winning a Section VI title before falling in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association finals in Glens Falls.

Angeletti grabbed 288 kills, 222 points, 56 aces, 62 blocks, 133 digs and 362 serve receptions while Schnars had 358 kills, 21 points, three aces, 101 blocks and 10 digs.

Panama’s Maddie Johnson was named to the Second Team as a junior, finishing the year with 13 kills, 37 aces, 208 points, 113 digs and 640 assists.

Deanna Wilson of North Collins was named to the Third Team and Brynn Pagett of Randolph the Fourth Team while Bre Hill of Maple Grove and Makenna Williams of North Collins were named to the Fifth Team.

Leading Class C were First-Team selections Kylie Blessing and Laura Wilhelm of Portville. The Panthers finished the year at 31-8-1 and made it to pool play of the state Final Four in Glens Falls.

Tori Unverdorben was a Second-Team choice for the Panthers and Reggie Tkacik a Fourth-Team choice.

Also in Class C, was Fifth-Team selection Emma Sutfin of Eden, and Sixth-Team selections Cameron Riordan of Allegany Limestone and Isabel Dinse of Wilson.

In Class B, Destiny Custer of Olean was on the Third Team, Adele Dwaileebe of Olean was on the Fourth Team, Olivia Alessi of East Aurora was on the Fifth Team, and Maddie Root of City Honors was on the Sixth Team.

In Class A, Haley Marchewka of Williamsville South was on the Second Team, Madison Poplieski of Williamsville South was on the Second Team, Georgia Farry of Hamburg and Katie Putney of Starpoint were on the Fourth Team, and Emily Brochey of Niagara Wheatfield was on the Sixth Team.

Leading Class AA was Abby Ryan of Orchard Park on the Second Team, Ashley Dogal of Orchard Park on the Third Team, Lexi MacDonald of Clarence on the Fourth Team, Olivia Walczak of Clarence on the Fifth Team and Megan Vona of Lancaster and Summer Harris of Orchard Park on the Sixth Team.
