Audubon To Host Story Time

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host a Sunday story time from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sunday. Nature Center doors open at 12:20 p.m. before doors open to the public at 1 p.m. Reservations for story time are requested by Saturday. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 716-569-2345 or visit AudubonCNC.org and click through Programs and Events. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.

Bocce Sign-Ups Set For Monday

Catholic Bocce league sign ups will be Monday at 6 p.m. in the St. John’s church hall, 270 Newton Ave. Anyone interested in playing in a bocce league must attend this meeting. If you have any questions you can call Kathy at 716-499-3694 or Rich at 716-487-0071

AARP Smart Driver Program Schduled

ELLINGTON – The Ellington Farman Library is hosting a six-hour AARP Smart Driver Safety Program on Tuesday, May 7, and Wednesday May 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. each day in the library’s community room. The Ellington Farman Library is located at 760 Thornton Road, Ellington. The cost is $25 for AARP members and $30 for non-members. Participants are reminded to bring their driver’s license, AARP card if they are a member and a check or money order payable to AARP. This is the first course designed specifically for drivers over 50, however drivers of all ages can take the course. Course participants may be eligible to receive a discount on auto insurance premiums and a reduction of up to four points on their driving record. Quilt Guild To Meet May 8

BUSTI – The next meeting for the Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will be Wednesday, May 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Busti Federated Church. The guild has a new schedule for the meeting days. The community sew will be from 3 to 6 p.m. with a board meeting at 5:30 p.m., refreshments and social time from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and the guild meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Members are encouraged to come early to assist with the community sew projects which benefit various local organizations. Community members are welcome to come for the community sew, refreshments and social time and/or for the general business meeting. May’s program will be a demonstration by Kim Kahanic and friends. Members are asked to bring their completed block lotto and paint chip challenges to the meeting.

Lakewood Library To Hold Book Sale May 9-11

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library is holding a book sale from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May 11. The sale will feature hundreds and hundreds of books — fiction and nonfiction, hard cover and paperback, children’s books and books by local authors, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and jigsaw puzzles. Sale hours are Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a bag and box sale. Fill one bag for $2, two bags for $3 or one box for $6. The Lakewood Memorial Library is located at 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. For more information, contact the library at 716-762-6234.
