LAKE SHORE LEAGUE

JUNIOR VARSITY

Led by 244 total yards on offense and four touchdowns, Southwestern defeated Frewsburg, 26-14.

Aiden Kennedy scored two touchdowns and led the team with 102 yards on seven carries. Joey Pierce gained 34 yards and reached the end zone once for Southwestern. Griffin Bogdanowicz rounded out the scoring by catching a 16-yard touchdown pass from Kennedy.

Defensively, Colton Holbrook, Eddie Gibbon, Ashton Matthews and Cameron Lemk combined for 18 tackles. Kennedy intercepted two Frewsburg passes, one coming late in the fourth quarter to seal the game.

Southwestern defeated Panama. The win improved Southwestern’s record to 4-0 on the season.

In total, Southwestern ran for 253 total yards. Aiden Kennedy accounted for 107 of those yards and one touchdown. Griffin Bogdanowicz opened the scoring with a 6-yard run just before halftime.

Nate Johnson and Eddie Gibbon combined for 12 tackles. Max Marshall recovered a fumble.

JAMESTOWN AREA MIDGET FOOTBALL LEAGUE

JUNIOR VARSITY

Caleb Piazza rushed for 254 yards and four touchdowns as the Westside Panthers outlasted Dunkirk, 26-21.

Quincy Pace contributed 75 yards on the ground and hauled in an important 2-point conversion from Cole Joly.

Gerald Samuels led the winning defense with eight tackles while Ayden Hagelin and Hakeem Pryce each contributed five stops.

Key tackles by Cole Bloomquist on third down and Thomas Pratton on fourth down sealed the victory.

Adam Fred and Noah Sikes scored for Dunkirk.

Bishop Butts scored on a 38-yard run, Eric Reese on a 7-yard run, Xavier Foust on a 4-yard run and Jack Carlson on a 2-yard run as Northside prevailed over Southside, 26-13.

Brady Weatherby recorded a 10-yard scoring run and Gavin Pantojas scored on a 2-yard run in the loss.

Reese had 205 yards and Foust ran for 75 yards for the winners, who scored on a conversion pass from Carlson to Carson Panebianco.

Kane Torres had 11 tackles and an interception, Ison Shirley had seven tackles, Butts had six tackles and Patrick Spencer had five tackles for the winners. Reese also had a fumble recovery.

For Southside, Weatherby had 118 yards and Keith Miller added 114 yards while Dominic Weber had 10 tackles and Miller had eight tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception.

VARSITY

Southside remained undefeated by blanking Northside, 19-0. as Drayce Garland and Kayden Herman recorded two sacks each and Colton Lange had one.

Scoring touchdowns for Southside were Jaylen Butera on a 53-yard run, Ben Anderson on a 1-yard run and Michael Boron on a 3-yard run.

Butera led in rushing with 117 yards on five attempts while Garland and Herman each had 3 tackles for Southside.

For Northside, Ozion Kinney had 14 tackles, Anthony Mohney had 13 tackles, Sincere Green had eight tackles, and Kyran Johnson had seven tackles and an interception.

Owen Maggio carried four times for 98 yards and scored twice while Ryan Eddy had a 25-yard score as Westside defeated Dunkirk, 21-14.

Douglas Beardsley made 10 tackles, Kyler Nickerson had seven tackles, Markell Carter had six tackles and Ty Schultz had five stops for Westside.

Jahriek Peterson got the winners into scoring position by stripping the ball from Dunkirk.

George Pagan scored twice for Dunkirk, which had defensive standouts Jackson Storey, Jashawn Courier, Nick Zatorski and Jamari Terry.

MODIFIED

Led by Jonah Tonkin with 10 tackles, Southside stayed in first place with a 36-0 win over Northside.

Savon Vansickle went into the end zone three times on gallops of 10, 65 and 38 yards while Tonkin cracked over from the 1-yard line and Ayden Bonta scored from the 2-yard line to account for the touchdowns.

Vansickle gained 231 yards on 17 attempts while the defense had 12 players make defensive stops. The offense had 15 first downs.

Kameron Melendez had six tackles while Evan Anderson and Joey Dahlgren each had four tackles to lead winning defense.

For Northside, Travon Blakeslee and Deryek Brown had 14 tackles each.

Dunkirk defeated Westside, 27-6, as Tyron Wright scored three times and Jose Camocho scored once.

Westside’s lone score was a 25-yard pass from Nate Hill to Derrick Howser. Hill contributed 82 yards rushing.

Chicago Jackson had eight tackles, Nevan Kearney had seven tackles and Jaiden McKoy had six tackles for Westside. Carter Eganski played well on defense and Sven Anderson played well on the offensive line.

JAYVEE

Keith Miller rambled 65 yards to paydirt on the final play of the game to give West Side a 31-25 win over South Side on Saturday.

That was the fifth touchdown by Miller, who gained 265 yards rushing. Earlier, Miller tied the score on at 25 on a 45-yard run but the extra point failed.

Other touchdowns by Miller were from 56, 72, 40 and 8 yards in addition to an extra-point run. Miller also was 1 of 3 passing for 27 yards with Alden Greenwalt catching the pass.

Ja’Ron Mays aided the winning running attack with 52 yards and had eight tackles. Dominic Weber had nine tackles and Brady Weatherby had five tackles while Jacob Roberts and Braiden Patterson had three tackles apiece.

West Side scored on runs of 65, 61, 1 and 45 yards.

Eric Reese gained 103 yards rushing and scored twice as North Side edged Fredonia, 13-12.

Xavier Foust rushed for 51 yards and Patrick Spencer had 29 yards in addition to running in the winning extra point.

Ison Shirley made 11 tackles and forced a fumble, Kane Torres had seven tackles, Bishop Butts had seven tackles and a fumble recovery, and Terrell Reese had five tackles.

VARSITY

South Side improved to 4-0 with a hard-fought 20-12 decision over West Side.

Jayden Butera had 108 yards rushing and two touchdowns in addition to an extra point. Ben Anderson ran for 89 yards and a touchdown, and Cam’Ron Mays had 32 yards and an extra point.

Kaden Herman had 13 tackles and a blocked pass for the winners while Kameron Milton had five tackles, Butera and Anderson each had four-and-a-half tackles and Jordan Howie had four tackles. Butera and Howie each had an interception.

Anderson completed a 32-yard pass to Cam’Ron Mays for South Side.

For West Side, Maggio crossed the goal line on runs of 70 and 20 yards.

Sincere Green had 109 yards rushing with a touchdown and a reception for 13 yards as North Side defeated Fredonia, 20-0.

Sam Harrison recorded 78 yards rushing and Orion Kinney scored a touchdown in the win.

James Fisher had three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown to go along with a 2-point conversion reception for the winners.

Trey Drake threw for 71 yards, a touchdown and a 2-point conversion pass,

Harlem King made 11 tackles while Green and Nate Torres each had six tackles and an interception.

MODIFIED

Quarterback Nate Hill went 4 of 5 passing, ran for two scores and threw a 2-point conversion pass as West Side prevailed over South Side, 28-6.

Tyler Swegles, who snared a conversion pass from Hill, tossed a touchdown pass to Harry Monfort and a conversion pass to Masen Maggio.

Monfort was top tackler with 11 stops. Derrick Howser had six tackles as did Andrew Harrier, who batted down a pass. Maggio recovered a fumble and Calvin Ricker returned an interception for a score.

Savon Vansickle went 37 yards for South Side’s lone score and had 146 yards passing.

Defensively for South Side, Josh Tonkin and Vansickle each had seven tackles, Caleb Erickson had five tackles, Jonan Tonkin had five tackles and Evan Anderson had four tackles with an interception.

North Side won over Fredonia, 24-20, as Takaye Branch had 15 carries for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

Chris Terhune tossed three touchdowns passes and had 256 yards passing. Avante Hicks had two catches for 115 yards and a score for the winners.

Deryek Brown had 16 tackles and a sack, Branch had 11 tackles and Ben Schrader had seven tackles and a sack while Cedric Denson and Elijah Rojas each had five tackles for North Side.

Matt Lotter and Nick Whitfield led the Fredonia offense while Brennan Gilbert and Devon McCall led the defense.

LAKE SHORE MIDGET FOOTBALL LEAGUE

JUNIOR VARSITY

Southwestern won its first two games, beat Bemus Point, 28-8, and defeated Westfield, 42-20.

Aiden Kennedy was 6 of 9 for 115 yards and three touchdown passes in the win over Bemus Point. Griffin Bogdanowicz, Max Marshall and Ashton Matthews each caught a touchdown. Kennedy also hit paydirt from 29 yards late in the game to seal up the victory.

Matthews snagged two passes for 82 yards while Nate Johnson led the defense with five solo tackles.

Southwestern gained 425 yards offensively in taking care of Westfield.

Bogdanowicz rushed seven times for 88 yards while scoring twice. Kennedy ran in another touchdown from 18 yards and passed for two more touchdowns.

Ashton Matthews had 54 yards and Bogdanowicz had 41 yards receiving for Southwestern.

Dominic Vavala and Cameron Lemk combined for 15 tackles to lead the defense.

Midget Football

JAMESTOWN AREA MIDGET FOOTBALL LEAGUE

VARSITY

Owen Maggio scored on runs of 51 yards and 60 yards as West Side remained undefeated by taking care of Fredonia, 20-0.

Javonte Turner hit paydirt from 71 yards and Ryan Eddy added 74 yards on the ground.

The offense had big-play ability with seven runs of 10 or more yards and the defense was flawless in posting the shutout.

Nick Whitfield and Matt Lotter were Fredonia’s leading rushers while Lotter, Mark Cash and Brenden Gilbert led the defense.

JAYVEE

Keagen Whitfield tallied three touchdowns on two runs and a 60-yard strike from Jameison Quion as Fredonia defeated West Side, 19-13.

Sam Atzrostt had a big runs up the middle to help Fredonia, which was led by Mark Levens, Colin Crowell, Joshua Thurber and Ruben Santos.

Caleb Piazza was outstanding in defeat with 223 yards on nine attempts, which included touchdowns of 81 and 73 yards. Quincy Pace added 43 yards on the ground.

Marcus Merced made 12 tackles, Freeney had eight tackles and Gerald Samuels chipped in seven tackles while Hakeen Pryce, Doverspike, Gillispie and Cogdell recorded five each in the loss.

MODIFIED

Dom Gullo had three touchdowns and Dalton Gardner had two behind a strong offensive line as Fredonia stopped the West Side, 34-14.

Jacob Skinner caught a 2-point conversion pass from Kaleb Rybij.

Defensively, Gardner and Skinner, Jaydon Jaffrey, Tyler Rosen and Rybij were the leaders.

For West Side, Harry Monfort had 115 yards and a touchdown while Nate Hill was 4 of 10 for 42 yards and ran for 49 yards. Hill scored on the ground and ran in the extra point.

Monfort led the defense with 14 tackles and Nevan Kearney had nine tackles while Derrick Howser and Simeon Leeper each had six tackles.

MODIFIED DIVISION

Nate Hill completed 8-of-15 passes for 97 yards, scored on a 2-yard run and caught a pass of 20 yards from Tyler Swegels as West Side topped Dunkirk, 22-6.

Harrison Monfort rambled for 163 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Defensively, Simeon Leeper and Monfort led the way in tackles while West Side teammates Kamal Pryce and Masen Maggio each forced fumbles that were recovered by Nevan Kearney and Hill.

VARSITY DIVISION

West Side defeated Dunkirk, 32-7, with Owen Maggio collecting 66 yards rushing, Markell Carter 65 yards rushing and Jevonte Turner 55 yards rushing.

Carter, Turner and Demonte Blake scored touchdowns.

Defensive standouts for the winners were Jaral Farmer, Josh Bush and Douglas Beardsley. Farmer had five tackles and a fumble recovery. Bush and Beardsley had four tackles each and Nolan Bush intercepted a pass and rambled 60 yards.

Devon Hillman and John Torres each recovered a fumble for West Side.

JUNIOR VARSITY

DIVISION

Caleb Piazza rushed for 12l yards and two touchdowns and Quincy Pace ran for 103 yards, but West Side lost a 27-19 verdict to Dunkirk.

Carson Bane had a 1-yard score for West Side, which received 11 tackles from Hakeen Pryce, eight tackles from Samuels and four tackles from Thomas Pratton.

Donny Jackson led Dunkirk with 19 tackles and Christian Hernandez ran back an interception for a score. Other scores for Dunkirk were by Adam Fred and Noah Sikes.

West Side travels to Fredonia this weekend.
