Alberta S. Webster, 101, of Falconer passed away Thursday (April 4, 2024) in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

A lifelong area resident, she was born December 23, 1922 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Algie and Mildred Flanders Sherman.

Alberta was a 1940 graduate of the former Lakewood High School, and also attended Jamestown Business College. In earlier years she was employed by Chautauqua County Social Services for 20 years, retiring in 1993. She then worked for Quality markets for 18 plus years from 1988-2006. She was a member of the Retired Public Employees Association, AARP, WCA Axillary, and the Bemus Point Methodist Church.

She loved Elvis Presley music and movies, flowers and gardening, baking, watching birds, and loved animals. Alberta also loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved watching Dale Earnhart Sr. racing.

She is survived by her son Bryce Webster of Falconer; a sister, Vicki Schnars of Mooresville, NC; a brother, William Sherman of Lakewood; grandchildren: Erica (Dane), Conor (Caitlin), Ian, and Caleb Webster all of Falconer; great grandchildren: Warren Webster, Elliana Webster, Lillian Webster, Palmer Webster, Scarlett Bush, Bennett Webster, and Vivienne Webster.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her companion, Robert “Doc “Webster; and a brother, Jerry Sherman.

Friends will be received Sunday (April 14, 2024) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Falconer Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Busti, NY.

Memorials may be donated to the Falconer Fire Department or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
