William E. “Bill” Crooks

William E. “Bill” Crooks, 81, of Jamestown, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born on May 14, 1942 in Jamestown, a son of the late Paul E. and Dorothy M. Peterson Crooks.

He was a graduate of Marshall County High School in Lewisburg, TN and served in the US Army during Vietnam.

He began working at MRC/SKF in 1966 and ended his career as Transportation Manager in 2003.

Bill was a member of Siloam Fellowship in Frewsburg. He was an avid golfer, was a people person, loved his family, and loved to tell stories. He had a great sense of humor.

Bill is survived by his wife, Karen L. Swanson Crooks who he married May 1, 1965; three children: Julie (Timothy) Burkett of Frewsburg, Shawn (Nicole) Crooks of Mooresville, NC, Jana (Mark) Keller of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren: Cory, Joshua, Jane, and Samantha Burkett, Hailey and Kelsey Crooks, Chase, Brayden, and Aylin Keller; and a nephew Toby Crooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John “Jack” Crooks, and a nephew Kelsey Crooks.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Pastor David Bush will officiate.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.

Friends will be received from 10-11 am (one hour prior to the service) on Tuesday in the funeral home.
