Burton W. Emory

Burton W. Emory, 92, of Findley Lake, N.Y., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday May 29,2021. He was the son of Walter and Lula (Matice Brumagin) Emory.

Burton went to French Creek Rural School until sixth grade and then attended Clymer Central School. He retired from General Electric in Erie in 1988 after 24 years. Prior to G.E., Burton worked for his father at Emory Lumber Co. for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and metal detecting, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, coin collecting, completing crafts and woodworking projects. He traveled throughout the United States sightseeing and visiting antique stores with his family. He belonged to Triangle Squares & Dancing Flames, Square Dancing Groups for five years. He was a member of Findley Lake United Methodist Church where he was baptized.

Burton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Batson Foster Emory; his children: Steve (Debbie) Emory of Tolleson, Ariz., Ronnie (Brenda) Emory of Masa, Ariz., Randy (Evelyn) Emory of Lakeside, Ariz., Clifford (Dianna) Foster of Clymer, N.Y. Wayne (Barb) Emory of Clymer, N.Y. and Brent (Lisa Maree) Emory of Cly-mer, N.Y., 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and three siblings: Roberta (Dick) Rotunda, Dallas (Anna) Emory and Marge (Mort) Loomis.

Besides his parents, Burton is predecesed by five siblings: Carlton Brumagin, Isabelle Brumagin Emory, Janet Rea, Virgil Emory and Shirley Carutis;

Calling hours are at the Findley Lake United Methodist Church, 2862 N. Road, Findely Lake, N.Y. 14736 on Thursday, June 3, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8p.m., and Friday June 4, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a service at the church at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Lowville Cemetery, Lowville, Pa.
