Charles “Chuck” A. Erickson
Charles “Chuck” A. Erickson, 81, of Heritage Park, Jamestown, passed away Feb. 23, 2021. Charles, son of Paul and Esther Erickson, was born and raised in Jamestown. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the US Air Force.
Following his retirement from SKF USA, Chuck enjoyed entertaining family and friends and feeding “his” ducks at his home on Chautauqua Lake.
Chuck will be remembered for the many ways in which he served his community. He brought joy to many local children as a devoted advocate for the Special Olympics Soap Box Derby and through his Camp Mission Meadows sponsorships. Throughout the holidays, Chuck could be found ringing bells for the Salvation Army and portraying Santa Claus for many local groups. Referred to as “Chuckles” by many, Chuck always had a joke or two that he loved to tell to bring smiles to peoples’ faces.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy Erickson of Jamestown; his daughters, Tami (Ken) Smith of Allyn, WA, and Dawn (Ron) Jake of Olalla, WA; grandchildren, Chelsi (Galen) Hyatt and Lance Jake; great-granddaughter, Averly Hyatt; step-children, Lisa Offhaus of Mayville and Kevin Offhaus of Modesto, CA; step-grandchildren, Amara (Rodion) Zabolotniy, Matthew (Danita Bayer) Bane, McKenna Offhaus and Fallan Robert; his nephew, Todd (Lori) Erickson and niece, Leigh Jones; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Janice (Milburn) Larson and brother Roger (Caryl) Erickson.
Chuck enjoyed his time singing with Harmony Express and as a member of Zion Covenant Church. Memorials may be sent to Zion Covenant, 520 Fairmount Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701 for camp tuition sponsorships at Mission Meadows.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
