Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday

On Sunday, May 3, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike to Pigeon Falls in Marienville. The hike will be a 1 mile flat in hike and then return to the trailhead. Those attending should meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. This is a typical wet trail so appropriate footwear is recommended. Tom Patterson is the leader of the activity.

Salvation Army Hosts Food, Item Giveaway Thursday

The Salvation Army church at 83 S. Main St., is giving away clothing and small items Mondays through Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, April 30, the Salvation ARmy Food Express is giving away extra supplemental packages of food at 10 a.m.to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m.; photo ID is required. The Salvation Army welcomes donations of clothing, small appliances, and non-perishable food weekdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the 83 South Main Street location.

Mayville Tuesday Club To Meet For Luncheon

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Library’s Tuesday Club will meet Tuesday, May 5, at 12:30 p.m. for its annual luncheon. The group is also having a White Elephant sale to raise money for donating to various organizations. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass.

FALCONER – The Falconer Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in the Community Building board room, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Frewsburg School Board To Hold Public Hearing May 7

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will host a public hearing on its 2026-27 budget proposal at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in the middle/high school library. The public is welcome to attend.

JCC To Hold Spring Concerts

The Jamestown Community College Music Department will present two spring concerts in May, offering the public a pair of free evenings of live music at the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus. The 2026 Spring Concert kicks off the series on Tuesday, May 5, at 7 p.m. The program will feature the JCC Concert Choir, directed by Julie Costantini, and the Concert Band, under the direction of Chris Wakefield, performing a variety of selections in different styles. The evening’s centerpiece will be the New York premiere of “Concerto No. 2 for Alto Saxophone and Concert Band,” composed by JCC Music Department Chair Neil Flory. The piece will be performed by the Concert Band alongside special guest saxophonist Andy Wen, who will be on campus for a three-day residency May 3-5. On Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m., the Music Department presents Spring Jam!, an energetic concert featuring JCC Rock Ensembles directed by Bill Eckstrom performing a wide range of styles. Both concerts are free and open to the public and will be live-streamed on Zoom. Links are available on the JCC events calendar.
