Carolyn “Chubby” Evinczik

Chubby was born June 1, 1941, to the late Carl and Lillian (Johnson) Allenson in Jamestown, N.Y. Chubby was the wife of the late Daniel J. Evinczik, whom she was married to for 45 years before his passing in 2006.

During her life, she made her passion for books and learning a career when she worked for the Warren Public Library. Chubby was a member of the Salvation Army in Jamestown, N,Y.

She was also a member of the Independent Order of the Vikings, Ingjald Lodge 65 and a former member of the Sugar Lanes Early Bird Bowling League on the Danny’s Fanny’s team.

Chubby was a beloved member of her community, very active and vocal. She enjoyed volunteering and spent some of her time helping at Meals on Wheels, Jumpstreet, Words-worth Academy, Capital Academy and the Dauphin County Public Library, all in the Harrisburg area.

In her free time, Chubby loved to read, do crossword puzzles and watch HGTV and the Food Network. She also enjoyed helping take care of her granddogs.

Chubby loved to learn and was always using the Internet to research information or email politicians.

Chubby will be remembered by her family and those that knew and loved her as having a unique sense of humor, strong opinions and being a picky eater. She did not like her food to touch on her plate.

Chubby never met a stranger, she had a quick and contagious laugh, and she always smiled at everyone. Chubby was proud and supportive of her children and family, and she enjoyed spending time with all of them. It was very important to her that people always be kind to and tolerant of each other, and she lived by this precept. Chubby was the backbone of her family, and she kept in contact with her relatives no matter how distant. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all those whose lives she touched.

Chubby is preceded in death by her two brothers: John and Carl William Allenson Jr.; and her sister, Anne Allenson.

Chubby is survived by her son, Eric Daniel Evinczik and the love of his life, Mary Wyrick; her daughter Julianne Evinczik; her three sisters: Marilyn Dahlgren (Jeffrey), Violet Kane and husband, Mark and Joanne Darling and husband Lee; her sister-in-law, Darlene Allenson (John); her aunt, Betty Soderstrom; her granddogs: George and Walter; her grandcats: Sally and Mia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Chubby’s name to the Warren Public Library, 205 Market St., Warren, PA 16365.
