ASHVILLE – The Ashville Bay Marina is set to undergo a transformation under a new management team.
Recently, the marina owners announced a partnership with Vince and Emily Liuzzo, who will take the lead on this project. The collaboration aims to bring a fresh, programmable facelift to the marina, situated at 2500 Route 394, Ashville, enhancing its appeal and functionality while expanding the programming and events boatyard.
“We’re adding more family-friendly, kid-friendly events at the marina, in a clean and safe place,” said Vince Liuzzo. “We’ve got the wetlands preserve next door; it’s a destination for bird watchers. We want to promote our area’s natural beauty and the great culture and scenery here; we’re also going to be selling pre-packaged novelty ice-cream, and putting some seating at the point.”
The Liuzzos are not new to the marina, saying managing the marina is part of a natural progression for the duo.
“When we purchased our boat and launched our business, Weiners on the Water, a friend introduced me to another acquaintance who assisted us in getting established at the marina,” said Vince Liuzzo. “As newcomers to the ‘boating culture,’ we found everyone at the marina to be extremely helpful and friendly. Our goal is to make the marina more accessible and to assist those who are interested in boating so they can experience the incredible resources our lake has to offer.”
Vince Liuzzo is an arborist within the community who helps area residents with outdoor management, treatments, and rehabilitation of natural areas. He is also known for his unique ice and wood sculptures.
The Liuzzos have already hit the road running at the Ashville Bay Marina before the official launch of the local boating season on Chautauqua Lake.
“We’ve got a free, open-to-the-community Kids Fishing Tournament,” he said. “We’re doing this event here at the Marina in conjunction with Chautauqua Reel Outdoors Guide and Tackle Shop.”
Luizzo shared that the event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and consists of two age groups. Group One is for children aged 10 and younger, and Group Two is for children aged 11 to 16. Additionally, the Liuzzos’ Weiners on the Water will be selling hot dogs at a reduced price, and Mike’s Pro Sound will also host the event.
“To register for the event, sign up at Chautauqua Reel Outdoors Guide and Tackle Shop,” said Liuzzo, which is also located at 2500 Route 394, at the marina.
