Nine Businesses Fined For Water Violations

MAYVILLE – There were nine businesses that were recently fined for violating various water regulations. During the Chautauqua County Board of Health meeting, it was announced there were four businesses who wanted to go before the hearing officer. The remaining five agreed to settle. Basil & Bones requested to go before the hearing officer but no one showed up for the hearing. They missed filing a water sample in January. Dairy Market Pushes Forward Despite Challenges

In the wake of Refresco canceling its local contracts with grape growers, other agricultural markets such as dairy are continuing on, even while facing some challenges, including some similar to grape growers. Back in 2016, hundreds of jobs were expected for a drug manufacturing plant in the town of Dunkirk. The plant was built but it never opened and those jobs never came.
