Casella Waste Management will remain party to a lawsuit filed by the estate of a man who was killed in 2020 at the Chautauqua County Landfill in Ellery. On Aug. 3, 2020, Scott Deming was standing behind a large pile of garbage and debris he had just dumped at the landfill in Ellery when he was hit by a bulldozer driven by a county employee. Deming was fatally injured. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office stated the bulldozer operator had “no idea” Deming was behind the pile when the debris was pushed into a pit. Trial underway in 2024 Lakeview attack

MAYVILLE – A trial for an inmate of the Lakeview Correctional Facility who is accused of injuring multiple officers two years ago is under way. According to court officials, 36-year-old Windsor Coleman has been charged with three counts of second-degree assault, three counts of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and two counts of first-degree promoting prison contraband.
