CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT --- CHAUTAUQUA -- At around 4:35 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a suspicious situation complaint. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Andrew C. Harris, 27, of Westfield. Through an investigation, it was found that Harris was operating the vehicle while having a suspended license. DUNKIRK SENTENCED FOR GUN INCIDENT — A Dunkirk man is headed behind bars for threatening people with a firearm at a city business. According to District Attorney Jason Schmidt, Jimmy Watts, 49, has been sentenced to 8 years in state prison with 5 years of post-release supervision by Judge David Foley after being convicted of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C violent felony. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SILVER CREEK – Leslie Wright Jr., 47, of Silver Creek was charged Tuesday with second-degree aggravated harassment. It is alleged that Wright left multiple phone messages that served no purpose after being told by deputies in the past to refrain from doing so. JAMESTOWN POLICE — Dominique Z Barr, 25, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 12:52 a.m. Tuesday after a domestic incident on Jamestown’s east side. According to a police report, Barr allegedly damaged property belonging to the victim. Barr also violated an Order of Protection which Barr is ordered to stay away from the victim. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Steven W. Walsh, 50, of Jamestown was charged with prohibited burning at 5:52 a.m. Sunday in the woods behind 86 Steele St. According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a fire in the woods and allegedly found a man concealing himself in the woods and screaming erratically. Police made contact with the man, who they say began swinging large tree branches wildly and didn’t respond to officers’ commands. After a brief investigation it was determined that Amber L. Devore, 28, of Silver Creek did harass another individual by threatening to subject them to physical contact.
