Six hurt in Arkwright ATV accident ARKWRIGHT -- An ATV accident injured six individuals and led to one victim being taken by helicopter to Buffalo. The Forestville Fire Department noted on its Facebook page the incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. Friday on Weaver Road. Upon arrival, crews determined three of them confirmed had been ejected from the back of the ATV. Accident closes transfer facility early An accident at the north county transfer station closed the facility early Thursday. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to the location on Webster Road around 11:30 a.m. after a 79-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and had fallen into the garbage pit. Members of the Fredonia Fire Department were able to get the male out of the pit and transported him to ECMC with injuries to his legs. Kaczor, an incarcerated individual at the Chautauqua County Jail, allegedly called an individual who has a full stay away order of protection against him. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – MAYVILLE – David Mclaughlin III, 30, of Mayville was charged July 3 with felony driving while intoxicated. Deputies said Mclaughlin was at the Sheriff’s Office for an unrelated matter and was charged with felony DWI due to having a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years. He was also charged with aggravated DWI with having a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher. He will answer the charge in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

Sandy, 26, listed as homeless, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance July 3 at 8:04 p.m. after an officer patrolling East Fairmount Avenue reportedly saw Sandy, who the officer knew had an arrest warrant from Ellicott Town Court. Electrical Fire Quickly Doused At UPMC Chautauqua Jamestown firefighters quickly doused a fire at the UPMC Chautauqua hospital on Foote Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Officials report crews responded at 12:23 p.m. to the facility where smoke was showing. Responders then headed to the east elevator penthouse area and located a room that contained the fire. Crews checked the fire room and located electrical components of the elevator system burning. They then used a dry chemical extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
