JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Austin J. Seward, 32, was charged June 30 with driving with ability impaired by drugs, and making an improper turn. According to police, at about 12:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on the south side. Through investigation, it was determined that the vehicle's operator, Seward, was operating the vehicle while allegedly impaired by drugs. He was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later. - Noah M. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Abraham M. Kamara, 48, of Georgia, was charged June 24 with driving while intoxicated. According to police, at about 2:19 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at West Second and North Main streets. A subsequent investigation revealed that Kamara allegedly was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. LANTERN BLAMED IN WEEKEND FIRE SINCLAIRVILLE --- At about 6:28 a.m. Saturday, multiple fire departments and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 30 Sinclair Drive for a reported structure fire. The firefighters were able to knock down and extinguish the fire quickly. Through investigation, it was found that the cause of the fire was accidental in nature caused by a decorative wooden lantern with a lit candle on the exterior of the house. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Dakota J. Raymond, 28, of Jamestown, was charged June 24 with endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree harassment. According to police, at about 3:45 a.m., officers responded to a Southside address for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police said, officers discovered that Raymond allegedly struck several subjects while in the presence of a 9-year-old child.
