LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT — Karlie L. Hallett, 32, of Cattaraugus, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. Police responded at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday to a reported shoplifting at an East Fairmount Avenue business. Officers observed a vehicle attempting to flee the area with stolen merchandise. An investigation found that Hallett allegedly left the store with merchandise totaling $983.60. Hallett is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE — VILLENOVA — Ricky E. Vento, 50, of Forestville, and James W. Lewellyn, 43, of Angola, were each charged with making a punishable false written statement. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 11 was investigating an incident on Dye Road in the town of Villenova where written statements were taken from Lewellyn and Vento. An investigation found that Lewellyn and Vento both allegedly provided false statements in regard to the investigation. Both are scheduled to appear in Villenova Town Court later. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE — PANAMA — Jared K. Gilbert, 37, of Mayville; Dennis J. Cash Jr., 35, of Dewittville; William E. Curry Jr., 41, of Panama; and Harry J. Radke, 47, of Conewango Valley, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Tuttle, 35, no address listed, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant Wednesday on charges of second-degree criminal contempt, petit larceny and second-degree harassment for an incident that occurred Aug. 25, 2023. — Jacob W. Fishgold, 21, no address listed, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief. Police responded Feb. 10 to a reported domestic disturbance in Celoron. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Tracey L. Wynn, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, broken windshield and open container. Officers stopped a vehicle at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday on Park Street for a traffic violation and found that Wynn, the operator, was allegedly in an intoxicated condition. Victim identified in Villenova accident VILLENOVA — The victim has been identified in a fatal utility vehicle accident late Saturday. In a news release issued early Wednesday, deputies said William L. Shreve, 64, of Westfield was the operator of the vehicle. At around 11:36 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and South Dayton Fire Department responded to Dye Road for a reported motor vehicle accident.
