CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Cody A. Nelsen, 32, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies responded to a property damage accident Saturday at 8:37 p.m. on Willow Avenue in Jamestown. The driver was identified as Nelsen, who was later found to be intoxicated. A check of his license determined that his privileges had been suspended. Nelsen was released with tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

¯ SHERMAN — Martin D. Hostetler, 24, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, speed in zone, no/inadequate headlights and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies stopped a car for speeding and having less than two functioning headlights Sunday on Route 76 in Sherman. Hostetler was identified as the driver, and an investigation determined he was intoxicated. He was processed and released with tickets to appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.

¯ HANOVER — Kenneth L. Monture, 41, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault. Deputies responded Sunday at 11 p.m. to an address in Hanover for a physical altercation. It is alleged that Monture kicked a struck a female, resulting in serious injuries. The female was airlifted by Mercyflight helicopter to ECMC in Buffalo. Monture was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ STEAMBURG — Robert DeVaul, 48, of Randolph was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. DeVaul was stopped on Route 394 in Steamburg for a traffic violation and taken into custody after reportedly failing several field sobriety tests. During a search, a bag containing marijuana and pipe containing marijuana were discovered. DeVaul was transported to police barracks where he provided a breath sample of .15 percent, and a check found that his license had been revoked for a DWI conviction in the last 10 years. DeVaul was processed and released with tickets to appear in Cold Spring Court at a later date.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Randal L. Hallett was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police received a report of a domestic dispute at 6:53 p.m. on Friday. Officers found Hallett, who became disorderly when they began speaking to him. Hallett reportedly began fighting with officers when they attempted to take him into custody. He was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ Bobby R. Mount, 36, was charged with petit larceny. Officers were dispatched Sunday at 7:04 p.m. to a 911 call for a possible domestic incident in Falconer. Mount allegedly fled the scene when officers arrived but was later located by a K-9 Unit.
