Pennsylvania commits to purchasing grapes from 11 Erie-area growers

A neighboring state is taking action in regard to the grape crop. On Thursday, the Shapiro Administration dedicated $500,000 to fund an emergency purchase, process, and transport of 350 tons of grapes from 11 Erie, Pa.-area growers whose buyer canceled contracts for this season’s crops unexpectedly in March. Unrelenting heat is again affecting the New York state grid. On Thursday afternoon, the New York Independent System Operator issued an Energy Watch due to a decline in operating reserves. The grid is operating normally at this time and there are adequate resources to meet forecasted demand.
