JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Phillip E. Hinkley, 55, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. At approximately 7:13 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a local business on the south side of the city for two unattended juveniles. Through investigation, it was found both juveniles were alone and had rode an ATV to the store, and without helmets. Officers made contact with the father, Hinkley, who was supposed to be in charge of the juveniles. Lakeshore Humane Society to host yard sale fundraiser

DUNKIRK - The Lakeshore Humane Society's 22nd annual giant yard sale will be held Friday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a day of early bird shopping, with a $3 entrance fee; Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, 1089 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
