Community Takes Part In Falconer Clean Up

FALCONER — The community came together Saturday to once again clean up the village.

A large group of community members met at the Falconer Fire Hall and were welcomed by Mayor Jim Jaroszynski, Falconer Rotary President Brenda Weiler, and Falconer Central School Superintendent Stephen Penhollow.

Jaroszynski reminded the group that the event was not held last year due to COVID-19 restrictions by the CDC; however, with the state opening and more guidelines being loosened, it was decided that the clean-up day was safe to hold. Residents that were not able to attend were encouraged to clean up around their own properties.

Falconer Rotary also took the opportunity to dedicate three flowering trees to the village. Their donation will be planted in Falconer Park in memory of three deceased members of the organization.

Participating organizations and community members in this year’s event included Falconer Central School staff, Key Club of Falconer Schools, Falconer Rotary, Falconer Village Board members, and the Falconer Department of Public Works under direction of Superintendent Carl Caprino.

At the conclusion of the event, participants were given a free hot dog lunch meal, donated by Phil-n-Cindy’s Restaurant and the Law Firm of Sally Jaroszynski.
