John Peterson, 42, of Jamestown was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with distribution and possession of child pornography by a person with a prior child pornography conviction, which carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, a maximum of 40 years, and a $250,000 fine. A Jamestown woman faces 17 counts of endangering the welfare of a child for alleged offenses dating back months. At 2 p.m. Monday, Jamestown police officers charged Amanda M. Pearsall, 31, of Jamestown for outstanding endangering the welfare of a child warrants. Pearsall was charged with 17 counts of endangering the welfare of a child for leaving her three children, age 5 months, 1 year and 4 years old unsupervised in the home on multiple different occasions in November 2025. Pearsall was arraigned in Jamestown City Court where she was released and is due back in court at a later date.

A Jamestown man is facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a child charges after youth were found living in deplorable conditions. At 2 p.m. Friday, Jamestown police responded to a westside address to assist with Child Protective Services on a check well being of four juveniles. Officers were given consent to check the residence and the well-being of the children. Inside the residence, there were animal feces, urine and garbage everywhere.
