Person Stabbed Sunday In City Passes Away Wednesday

Jamestown police are investigating a Sunday stabbing that has left a person dead. On Sunday, May 3, around 4:30 a.m. city police officers responded to the area of Lakeview Avenue and East Eighth Street for a report of a stabbing victim. Once on scene, officers located an unresponsive person who had been stabbed. The person was taken to UPMC Chautauqua and then transported to UPMC Hamot via STAT MedEvac for life-threatening injuries. A Jamestown man is facing federal child pornography charges. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Monday that Connor J. Higgs, 20, of Jamestown, was charged by criminal complaint with possession and distribution of child pornography, which carry a mandatory minimum penalty of five years, and a maximum of 20 years. In August, the New York State Police received a CyberTipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), regarding a Discord account, which contained suspected child pornography.
