Four Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In City
Four individuals are facing drug charges after Jamestown Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Newland and Fairfield Avenues for observed traffic infractions around 3:24 p.m. Thursday.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified to be Steven D. Schrecengost, 30, Casey L. Haberberger, 50, Brittany R. Washington, 33, and Christine E. Carlson, 46.
While on the traffic stop, officers could observe drug paraphernalia in plain view inside of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted which officers located a quantity of
fentanyl, packaging materials, a digital scale and mannitol, a cutting agent used as a dilutant for the sale of illegal drugs. The items were located in a bag belonging to Schrecengost. The search also found that Haberberger and Washington were in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl.
Carlson was found to be in possession of numerous Naloxone Buprenorphine sublingual films which is a controlled substance.
All subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Schrecengost was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and was awaiting arraignment in city jail. Haberberger, Washington and Carlson were all charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and released.
