A pair of individuals in the city were charged with beating a small puppy Saturday afternoon.

Jamestown police report Cheyanne Alcorn, 22, of Jamestown and Arthur Hubbard, 36, of Jamestown, were charged with cruelty to animals.

At around 3:20 p.m., officers responded to Winsor Street in Jamestown for a report of two subjects hurting the animal. Following an investigation into the incident, Hubbard and

Alcorn were arrested and transported to Jamestown City Jail. Hubbard was held pending arraignment due to prior failures to appear, and Alcorn was released.

Both are to be in city court.
