New York State Police closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 86 about 1½ miles west of Cold Spring after a two-car accident. Daniel Huff, 36, was stopped half in the driving lane and half on the shoulder of I-86 when his vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Lee Finch, 36, of Frewsburg, who thought Huff’s vehicle was moving. According to police, Finch looked away from the road and when he looked back realized the stopped vehicle wasn’t moving and was half in the lane. Huff’s vehicle rolled into the ditch, and Huff was taken by helicopter to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie for back pain. Finch was not injured.
