JPS Takes Part In Conference In an article published in the Wednesday edition of The Post-Journal, Jamestown Public Schools was unintentionally excluded from a list of local schools that attended a Supervising to Excellence Conference at Jamestown Community College.

Correction

Antique Auto Club The Antique Auto Club will meet at the War Vets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27. The date was incorrectly submitted to The Post-Journal.

Correction: Lakewood Memorial Library Budget

In the Sunday, May 13 editorial, “Are Small Libraries Something We Want, Or Something We Need?” it was incorrectly stated that the Lakewood Memorial Library has a little more than $900,000 in the bank to help with its budget. According to an Independent Accountant’s Review Report dated April 3, 2018, the current cash assets of the LML effective Dec. 31, 2016, were $36,949. Total net assets including land, building and equipment were valued at $602,306; restricted investments total $68,510; and unrestricted investment assets which are used for operating expenses total $199,068.

CLA Hearing

A story featured in the Saturday edition of The Post-Journal regarding a public hearing held in the town of Ellery meant to read, “Doug Conroe, executive director of the Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA), spoke on behalf of the CLA and asked for an extension of the public comment period. Current and former members also spoke on behalf of themselves. Many community members, including a biologists and lifetime residents of the lake questioned the use of herbicides and also asked for an extension of the public comment period.”

JCC Play Postponed

Jamestown Community College’s production of Speech and Debate has been postponed until mid-April. The play, originally scheduled for the Scharmann Theatre stage in March, will now be performed at 8 p.m. on April 13 and 14 and at 2 p.m. on April 15. Adam Owens will direct the production, which focuses on three high school students who unravel a scandal involving their teacher. Admission to the play is $10, adults; $8, senior citizens; and $5, JCC Faculty Student Association members and high school students. Tickets can be obtained by calling JCC’s box office, 338-1187.

Correction

Matt Oakes, a 2001 gradute of Falconer Central School, is a certified athletic trainer with USA Luge. His job title was incorrect in a story that appeared on Page A1 in Friday’s edition of The Post-Journal.
