Son sues mother over 2024 death of father

A man has sued his mother over the 2024 death of his father at the Chautauqua County garbage transfer station on Webster Road. William Bartoo was accidentally struck July 11, 2024, while depositing garbage into the pit at the county facility. He was hit by a vehicle driven by his wife, Sharon Bartoo. He died from his injuries July 30. William Bartoo’s son, Wesley Bartoo, subsequently sued the county. Chautauqua County also sued Sharon Bartoo over the incident. An inmate tied to an incident in February 2024 where he barricaded himself inside his cell, attacked and cut two officers with a sharp piece of plastic from a toilet brush has been convicted.
