Annual Audubon Plant Sale Is May 18

At Audubon Community Nature Center’s 2024 Plant Sale on Saturday, May 18 you will find a large selection of native plants, as well as annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs.

Stop by Audubon Community Nature Center’s 2024 Plant Sale on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and pick out some new plants, too.

There will be a large selection of native plants, as well as annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. Plants are from local greenhouses and Audubon’s gardens. A selection of local nurseries will be selling plants, including natives. You will also find a “Garden Treasures” sale of gently used garden equipment and decor, tools, pots, and more.

Volunteer Master Gardeners will be on hand to give advice at the advice table.

Audubon plants are $2.50 per 4″ pot, $5 per 6 – 8″ pot and $10 per 10″ pot.

Audubon will not be accepting plants for trade this year due to the threat of jumping worms, an invasive animal that can decimate local soils.

This event is outdoors and takes place rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.

The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
