Joanne Elizabeth (Diminuco) Pitts

She is preceded in death by John and Mary Diminuco, Thomas and Geraldine Nupp, Phillip and Jacqueline Guarneri, Albert Soldano, and John W. Pitts III.

She is survived by her two sisters, Agnes ( David) Clement and Dianna (LaMonica) Soldano, her four children Jonna (Steve) Johnson, Trevor ( Amy) Pitts, Travis ( Angela) Pitts, and Todd Pitts, and her three beautiful grandchildren, Daniel and Zoey Johnson, and Giuliana Pitts.

Joanne was a passionate teacher and spent the majority of her teaching career at Panama Central School. She was an active member of the NEA and a dedicated advocate for children. After her retirement she spent her time traveling and with her grandchildren.

Joanne had an infectious spirit for life and enjoyed lunches with friends, parties, and dancing. She was always the first to laugh with your joy and the first to offer a hand in times of sorrow. She often let her faith guide her actions, and was a true champion of those in need. Joanne was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed.

The family invites you to participate in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 13th from 12pm to 3pm at the Columns Banquet Hall ( 2221 Transit Rd, Elma 14059).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a charitable donation to organizations that support children, women, and/or addiction recovery.
