Petitions for the Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education Election on May 21 are now available.

At the May 21 Annual School Budget Vote and School Board Election, there will be two vacancies created by the expiration, on June 30, 2024, of the terms of Frank Galeazzo and Nina Karbacka. There will also be an additional vacancy created by the recent resignation of former board vice president Patrick Slagle, with the two candidates receiving the highest vote totals each to be elected to a full three-year term to commence on July 1, 2024 and expire on June 30, 2027, and the candidate receiving the third highest vote total to be elected to a one-year term to commence on May 22, 2024 and expire on June 30, 2025.

Candidates must submit a completed petition containing the names of 100 or more qualified voters within the school district to be eligible for the May 21 ballot. Petitions are due back to the Superintendent’s Office, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown, by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1.
