Audubon To Host Mud Camps March 29, April 4

Four to 12-year-olds can spend fun-filled learning days outdoors at Audubon Community Nature Center on Friday, March 29 and Thursday, April 4.

The Audubon Community Nature Center invites children between the ages of 4 and 12 to join educators to explore the world as spring arrives.

Spaces are filling up for Mud Camps on Friday, March 29, and Thursday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During spring break, children can adventure outdoors to find signs of spring, search for the migrators, and likely discover the importance of mud as the snow and ice melt and the world softens.

Since they will go outside, make sure they are dressed for the weather, with extras of everything that might get wet and possibly muddy. Also pack a lunch, snacks and a water bottle.

Cost for the day is $48 or $36 for Nature Center member children. Additional siblings receive a $5 discount.

Enrollment is limited. Paid reservations are required by Wednesday, March 27, for the Friday, March 29 camp, and by Tuesday, April 2, for the Thursday, April 4, camp. For more information and to register, call 716-569-2345 during business hours or go to AudubonCNC.org and click through “Programs and Events.”

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.

The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
