Veterans Family Day Planned At Centaur Stride
SHERMAN — Residents are invited to attend a Veterans Family Day on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Centaur Stride Horseback Riding Facility.
Located in Sherman at 8488 Jones Road, a clinic will be held for all ages, inclusive and family style. There will be pony rides, introductory lessons for those interested, instruction and practice on care for the horses and grooming, learning about what it takes to care for a horse, activities, games, volunteer orientation overview and more fun.
The clinic is sponsored by the Buffalo Veterans One Stop Center from funding from the Dwyer Foundation. Refreshments will be provided.
Registration is required by contacting Grace at One Stop at GGOUCHIE@VOCWNY.ORG. Call the barn with questions at 716 326-4318. It is hoped there will be an interest to have a group of people from veterans Families, who would like to regularly participate in programs at Centaur Stride, paid for by the Dwyer Foundation, or to recruit new volunteers to help with our programs for people with disabilities.
Participants progress at their own pace and horses are well trained for their role in “Healing with Horses.” Those interested can also RSVP by visiting: https://www.vocwny.org/event-details/veteran-family-day-centaur-stride.Arrangements can be made with One-Stop if transportation is required.
