FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg will host several drop-in events for children and adults.

While the upstairs is closed for renovations, the library is still open downstairs in its community room and children’s room. The library has letters that can be written and sent to Santa Claus at the library’s Official North Pole Mailbox. Each child who writes a letter will receive a letter back by from the North Pole and a book. Letters must be mailed at the library by Dec. 13.

The library will host a story and paint event at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. Registration is required at the library or calling 716-569-5515 to register children between the ages of 6 and 13. Each child will paint a gingerbread house in a winter scene. The library also has a book search contest where children are asked to find a book with a winter scene and show it to library staff members to be entered in a monthly drawing.

Library officials are also asking the community for help naming its gnome. Suggestions willl be accepted through December. Then, library officials will choose their favorite three names for patrons to vote on in January.

The library is also working to complete its winter village. Stop by the library and design a own paper house or store, color a reindeer or tree, and add it to the winter village in the community room. All ages are encouraged to participate.

The Myers Memorial Library is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The library will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1.
