Wild Wind Festival To Showcase Area Artists

PITTSFIELD, Pa. — The 39th annual Wild Wind Folk Art and Craft Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, and Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Warren County Fairgrounds, 371 Barton Run Road, Route 6, Pittsfield, Pa.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The festival features 150 exhibitors including potters, painters, toy builders, jewelry designers, quilters, blacksmiths, wood turners and furniture makers. There is also an exotic animal zoo, pony rides, face painting and balloon artistry. New to this year’s show is the Enchanted Fairy Tale Troupe. Dressed in costume, various fairy tale and superhero characters will be available to offer children interactive experiences and photo opportunities. Additionally, a birds of prey exhibit will be on display with lectures on both Saturday and Sunday. Other demonstrations, such as Bill Blasic’s wood turning, take place throughout the festival.

Food will be available. Live music includes Dan Hunt and Highway Radio on Sept. 8 performing a mix of alternative country, Americana, and classic rock. Sept. 9 features Stephen Eng and the Old Dawg Bluegrass Band.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Center will be on the site Sept. 9 to provide readjustment counseling and information resources to veterans, service members and their families.
